I'm very new to duck hunting/ hunting with dogs. I have a 3 year old rescue dog that i am pretty sure is a lab/pit mix. He loves to retrieve, but needs alot of work. I'm wondering if he is to old to learn to hunt. I have read some threads with advice on training videos, but I dont want to spend the money if its a waste of time on a dog that is to old. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Well, Based on close to no experience with dog training, I had successfully taught my 10 yo lab to retrieve sodas out of the refrigerator. Granted she is fully trained for hunting, but she wasn't to old to learn a new trick.

Thanks for that, Im going to start working him. I have never shot around him, Im thinking that is going to be the biggest hurdle.
