it's an age old dispute, er, i mean discussion. personally, 3" is more than enough. in fact, i only shoot 2 3/4" with excellent success. "many" birds find that out. :)

Using Kent 12 gauge, 3", #2 or #3, 1-1/4 oz. Fasteel though a Patternmaster LR crio choketube in a Benelli M-2 - been working fine for two seasons on pass shots and decoying shots.

read articles about how the 3 1/2 shells aint worth the money but most guns come with that ability to shoot them now anyway.buddy has a gun that shoots 3 1/2 and hes never even shots that size always 2 3/4 or 3.plus the ammos more money to.

I had a Kicks High Flyer (full) on my 870 and to be honest...I never changed chokes all of last year haha. Well that's a lie. Changed to an IC once then, after half a dozen shots, put my Kicks right back in. Swamper's dead on though. I roll 3" for ducks and 3.5" for geese. I think it's more of a mind game for myself though...
